17 years old, lump in left breast

I found a lump in my left breast, it's hard and can be moved about. I'm worried it could be breast cancer, I know its unlikely due to my age but i also know that it isn't impossible. The lump is just under the skin near the nippel and doesn't feel as though it is attached. I've been scared to talk to my mum but i realise it could potentially be serious so i am going to talk to her and make an appointment at the doctors, I just wanted some feedback as to what you think it could be? thanks

Hey I was 15 and found a lump in my left breast too. The lump was quite big (4x3.7x1.6 cm). I got an ultrasound and the doctors took a needle sample. The results are that the overall features are consistent with fibroadenoma and no malignant cells were found.

So hopefully you have had good results. My only worry is if the lump can turn into a malignant tumor.

Dear smiling is beautiful:  Without evaluation, it is impossible to speculate on what this might be.  Breasts can sometimes feel lumpy and there are several possible explanations.  Your age is in you favor but, in general, a lump should be evaluated.    You are on the right track in terms of telling your mum and proceding with an appointment.
