Thanks. Was wondering if anyone else had this happen about 6 weeks after surgery.
Hi again,
I am so sorry you are having so much trouble with the itching...this sounds very uncomfortable indeed!
I really don't know what to tell you except that you may ask your Pharmacist to give you some over the counter medication to alleviate your symptoms, until you see your Surgeon.
Take care...
No radiation or Tamoxifen. What I reallky want to know about is the horrible itching, not from the rash. It is the worst on my nipple and surrounding area. Driving me crazy!
Hi,
You don't say if you had your breast radiated or if you are actually taking an anti estrogen medication, like Tamoxifen or other similar drugs, because both could cause the rash you are experiencing.
The usual side effects following lumpectomy include temporary swelling of the breast, tenderness and hardness due to scar tissue that forms in the surgical site. There could be some bruising and also a rash, which should usually subside in a few days to weeks.
If things don't get better,I would advise you to see your Surgeon, Oncologist or a Dermatologist, so that you can be treated and find relief.
Hoping that you'll feel better soon...
Best wishes...
