Microcalcifications often come back benign but biopsy is the only way to know for sure. So try not to worry but think how nice it will be to have a definite answer. Even if microcalcs are cancer, it means it was caught very early.
I have microcalcs now that were new and are being followed in 6 months. I sometimes find myself wishing they recommended biopsy instead.

Dear Wandafun: Microcalcifications are small calcium deposits found within the breast tissue. There are different types of microcalcifications, and based on their pattern on the mammogram it gives the radiologist clues as to their cause. For instance microcalcifications that are more scattered are probably due to a benign (non-cancerous) cause, a
