Negative Mamogram and US lymph node pain

I,m 32 year old male. I went in to have a nontender lump looked at two weeks ago just under my left nipple. Before I went to the Doc. I played with the lump alot and made it sore and in turned caused pain in other areas in the breast reagion and close to the under arm area. The US showed nothing. I stopped playing with the lump and all the pain seemed to go away. Then the Doc. ask me to have a mamogram. Then I started playing with the lump again and made it tender again. It's been two days since the mamogram, (it was negative also), and I have had pain on the inside of my arm and in the breast reagion on the same side. I have felt like a burning sention in my arm pit that comes and goes but the one spot on the inside of my bicept seems to always have pain the last couple days. In hope of the pain going away I have stopped poking at the lump for a couple days. Can this discomfort be the result of poking at the lump so much? I also have a postatitus and have been on sulfameth trimethoprim 800/160 for aweek. Could this have anything to do with it?

True, our bodies aren't symmetrical but if a lump can be felt then it's definitely there. The itchy nipple might also be a clue but without examination I couldn't say anything further. i'm glad you are seeing the Surgeon, perhaps you'll get an answer at least as to what to do next. Please keep in touch and let us know the outcome.   Take care ....

Yes I have another appointment on Tuesday to see a surgeon. Otherwise nothing even shows up on US or Mamogram to suggest there is a lump there. I never did a self examine before so i don't know what my breast should feel like. I feel the same type of tissue under the areola on both sides. But the tissue on the left side under the areola just below the nipple fells larger and my nipple has itched for a couple months. That breast is a little bigger could the tissue just be bigger also?  Thanks

One of the side effects of the medication you mention is muscle pain. The discomfort you describe may not be related to the lump at all and I would suggest that you stop poking it since this evidently causes it to beome quite tender. Did the Dr. have no impression as to what may be causing the lump ?? It seems that it would warrant more investigation.    Regards ...
