Pea-Sized Lumps.

I'm 22 years old. When I was 13, I found a pea sized lump under my areola. My mother said it was fine, and I never went to the Doctor. It's still there, and hasn't changed size. I recently found another small lump under my areola.

I have a 18 month old, and a 5 month old. I am tandem breastfeeding.

I am very worried, and looking for a new Doctor to schedule an appointment with. Any advice?

I was on weekly progesterone injections while pregnant with my 5 month old, could this be a cause for the sudden lump I just noticed?

I forgot to add, there's no family history of breast cancer. The lumps are smooth, and rounded, and can be moved a bit.

Hi,
Yes progesterone injections could cause breast lumps, including many other side effects.
It's hard to say over the internet what is the exact nature of this new lump you just discovered. It could be variety of benign conditions such as a blocked milk duct,an infection,a cyst or a fibroadenoma.
Keep in mind that a high percentage of breast lumps are not alarming, but I am glad that you are going to make an appointment to see a doctor soon for evaluation, because a lump in the breast is an abnormality and should always be check out to rule out a possible serious problem.
Take care...

Thank you for the information. I check my breasts all the time, and this is the first time I have felt this lump. There's actually more than 1 new lump, the other one is very tiny, and close to the larger new lump.

I hand expressed for 3 months when my 1st was born, and then again for 3 weeks when my 2nd was born, could this have affected my breasts somehow?

My menstrual cycle hasn't regulated yet, since the birth of my 2nd son, so I don't know if this could be a cause too, with the change in hormones.

I'm freaking out now, thinking about the worst. :(

I've found a clinic, but have to wait until Monday to schedule an appointment.

Hi again,
First of all, please don't panic...As I said in my previous comment, most likely these lumps could due to benign conditions and also develop due to  hormonal levels in the body.
The fact that these lumps are smooth, rounded, and movable is a very good sign!
In the meantime, consider restricting fat and caffeine intake (Coffee, chocolate, colas and salty food) to see if it helps the lumps to subside.
Waiting to see a doctor would not change anything on the outcome which could turn out to be really nothing to worry about...
All the best... :)
