Hi.

How long have you been experiencing the pain? Is there any redness surrounding the area? Are you febrile? Are you having your period or are about to?

Nipple pain can occur during or immediately before menses, and is most likely related to hormonal changes. However, there are times when the pain is due to an underlying condition such as infections or masses which would warrant further investigation.

Do you know how to perform a self-breast examination? If yes, you should try to examine both breasts and feel for any lumps or masses.

In the meantime, you could take over-the-counter pain medications to relieve some of the pain. If your pain persists, or if there is fever, consult a physician as soon as possible.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Nipple areola complex is an highly sensitive region. The painful nipple may be normal which may occur during the menses time.
Any cracks in the nipple areola region can also cause painful condition.
Mastitis is another cause.

To be sure of a detailed history and clinical examination is essential.
Consult your physician as early as possible
Good luck

Hi.

If you are suffering from irregular menses, it would definitely be advisable to have your condition checked by your physician to determine if an underlying abnormality is causing any hormonal imbalance.

Good luck.
