blood doscharge from nipple

I have had a blood discharge from my right breast for 3 months. Does anyone know what that could be?

Well,it can sound "not good",but no one can be sure of that without having the appropriate test done.
I am glad that you are going to see a breast surgeon in a few days...The sooner you get this problem treated,the better the outcome.
Odds are in your favor that it's nothing too serious.

My Dr is sending me to a breast cancer surgeon on Tue for testing. But they said that it doesn't sound good.

Hi,
Bloody discharge from the nipple can be associated with many different conditions.Most often it could be an intraductal papilloma which is a noncancerous tumor.
Also,the bleeding can happen from inflammation in the ducts, reaction to drugs, dilatation of the mammary ducts(duct ectasia), and less commonly a cancerous tumor.The bloody discharge must be examined under the microscope(called cytological examination) for a diagnosis. So, please see your physician as soon as possible to have diagnostic tests done. Cytology is definitely recommended when the discharge from the nipple is bloody.... and especially when it's spontaneous..

Last night before I went to bed I investigated where the blood was coming from and It is right in the middle of my nipple and I didn't even have to force it out again this morning I look down and there was a fresh drop of blood there.

I had the bleeding and the intraductal papillomas and dcis.  DCIS is precancerous but also a possibility.  Was wondering about the wisdom of adding that but I think it's good to know the possibilities.

Just make sure you talk to your doctor and have it followed up.

Did they mean cysts?

As it is getting worse I would strongly recommend you see your doctor.

This comes without my knowledge spontaneousness. It's getting worse I have had a mamio last month that came up with many huge lumps of fluid they said. They also said it wasn't important to drain them unless I was uncomfortable. I have no pain. They bleed at night when I'm sleeping I find spots of blood on my sheets and in both my new bras.
