breast cancer now thyroid nodule

I am now 50 and was diagnosed in 2006 with stage IIIa ductal lobular carcinoma I was on tamoxifen and now femara but I am still gaining even with going to the gym 5 days a week and dieting I went to my Dr. and we did some blood work and they found my thyroid levels were all low so we did an ultra sound and found a nodule but when they did the uptake scan they could not see it . should I be worried.

Hello rae11180

I was told a year and a half ago that thyroid issues can be linked to breast cancer by the Cleveland Clinic. It would appear that this association is getting more common if you keep reading posts about it on different sites and on this one. Ask your oncologist and ENT and you may be surprised by what they tell you.

best wishes

Dear rae11180, Thyroid nodules may have nothing to do with your history of breast cancer, however it is likely they will evaluate it further to better characterize this nodule.
