Dear dmn: It is not unusual for one breast to be larger than the other. In fact, very few women have equal sized breasts. These differences can range from very minor to a cup size or so. Without examination, we cannot speculate on whether this is normal breast growth. If you are concerned, you should make an appointment with your doctor.
Hi,
The size of a breast is controlled primarily by genetic factors. There are of course nutrition and work type issues but overall the genetic factors determine the basic size. Having said that, there is usually not a very large difference in the sizes of the breast, though it is uncommon for both to be exactly equal in size. Do you have any pain, tenderness? Any complaints of oozing or bleeding? Are you lactating? Have you had a recent pregnancy or other hormonal changes?
You can go to your doctor and discuss this. It will help to hear what he/she says and if necessary a few tests can be carried out.
Let us know if you have any doubts and answers to these questions. Also let us know what your doctor says.
Regards.
