expander vs tram flat

Thanks a lot for give us this important space where to get such information about to many concerns.
I was diagnosed breast cancer in my right breast Ductal carcinoma in Situ, And mastectomy is the recommendation.

My conflict , is like the member mayg:  Tram Flap or Tissue Expander?
by maryg May 07, 2004 12:00AM  "I'm not crazy about the scarring I have seen on the breast and stomach that goes along with tram flap, but also want to have the best long-term result.  I like the idea of "waking up" to having a "breast" in place, but wonder about the pain and recuperation.  Would love to hear from women who have had either reconstruction done"

I'm 55 years old in a pretty good health, also.
I'd  like get out from the hospital with my reconstruction and forget about any other surgery as long as God want to. So I think Tramp flat would the best, but I need to know about pain and recovery...
Thanks you so much!

Not sure how many responses you will get here but I have a suggestion for your where I know you wlll get some first hand information from women who have "been there" and are more than willing to share with others.  The address is   (bcsupport.org) and you should click on the "surgery/reconstruction" section listed at the right.  This is a great place to connect with other pt.s ....Good Luck
