healing from a biopsy

hi just got a biopsy 4 days ago seems like everything is just fine right now..just lil itchy-ness.under the bandages..guess its normal due to the healing.but was curious if smoking cigarettes will affect the healing process of the biopsy...should i or not? silly question but seriously?

Dear alimta214:  Smoking decreases circulation and can therefore influence healing.  We would not recommend smoking at all but especially before and after surgery.

Smoking increases the risk of infection, etc -I think.
I doubt it would make a huge difference now but I would seriously consider (and attempt to) quit.

I think smoking are alcohol are several lifestyle factors which may also increase your risk of developing breast cancer, etc.
