inhomogenous

I recently did a my breast the report the that was given back to me is the fibroglandular tissue of the right breast appeared inhomogenous. No dilated ducts were seen.  What does that mean?

Not particularly .. it just means that the tissue all looks the same and is of the same density. These are terms used to describe how the tissue looks.

Dear redest:  Inhomogeneous is the opposite of homogeneous.  Homogeneous tissue all looks the same and is of similar density.  Inhomogeneous means the tissue looks different or is not uniform.

Inhomogeneous is similar to  Heterogeneous ... composed of different substances or properties, such as liquid or solid. Homogeneous meaning composed of only one substance.
