I have a very small round firm lump on my left breast near the nipple.  I can pinch up the skin to feel it which make me believe it is in the layers of skin, not the breast tissue.  A few years ago I had one very similar that a doctor examined and said it was nothing to worry about.  Eventually it surfaced and became like a pimple.  This one is a little further below the skin than the first one so I don't know if it will surface.  I have a checkup in a couple of months.  Is is safe for me to wait until then to have the doctor check it.  Thank you.

Dear wondering about cyst under skin:  Without examination, we cannot speculate on what this might be.  The general rule of thumb when a new lump is found is to have it evaluated.  Certainly lumps can be many things but without evaluation, it is impossible to know.  If you are concerned, you should see if your doctor can see you sooner.
