treatment for stage II, invasive ductal carcinoma, node neg.

I have stage II, invasive ductal carcinoma, node neg. Hormone Receptor positive, Her2/neu negative, post menopausal.
I have had a mastectomy with a tumor size of 2.1cm. close margin of 1mm... also, tumor was close to chest wall.

What is recommended treatment? Radiation? Chemo?  Hormone Therapy?  Oncotype DX test is pending.

What did your doctor's recommend? I'd be surprised if they didn't say chemo and radiation.

And with hormone positive cancer you for sure want to block your ovaries (if you still have them) and/or your adrenals from feeding estrogen to your estrogen positive breast cancer. You mention one mastectomy. That means you still have breast tissue on the remaining breast and also whatever breast tissue cells left behind on the mastectomy side. Research research research!! Weigh the options and risk factors and decide what you can live with.

Best wishes

It is impossible to speculate over the internet as to what treatment program will be recommended. Since your tumor was over 2cm (even though only slightly) and the closeness to the chest wall Chemo may or may not be advised. Many factors will be considered in addition to your Pathology report. Hormone Therapy is pretty much a given with the hormone positive finding. Your Oncologist will formulate a plan geared specifically to your particular situation which means it could be either 2 or possibly all 3 of the modalities you mentioned.  Regards ....
