waiting for results and seeking opinions on next steps

My history for my question: current age 33 Caucasian female. 06/25/07 has diagnostic mammo with ultrasound mammo said 3-4 cm multiple tiny cystic structure birads 3.  Ultrasound said multiple tiny cystic structure 2-3 cm ( overall have mri or wait short 6 months for repeat) dr advise to wait. Then 04/17/08 very minimal info on diagnostic mammo bi-rads 2 the cluster structure at 2 o.clock in left breast is somewhat smaller on mammo no new densities or calcifcations. US: cluster of cysts measuring together 2.5 to 2.0 no solid masses or abnormalities in left breast, unchanged since prior study except minor degree. 06/20/07 Breast specialist: palpable lump, US: measures 7 cm complex structure core biopsy done.

( previous hysterectomy 02/12/08 due to other issues, previous use of Lupron to put me in chemical menopause – no previous cancer, but suspected ovarian and endometrial in past surgeries and biopsies. 3 children)

Here is my question, after the core biopsy my lymph node under my arm swelled and turned red and painful for 3 days. And the actual core biopsy had a chunk of black in it - what could this indicate or be? Still awaiting results

Dear jesfet, Sometimes after surgery a near by lymph node may swell in reaction to the “injury” to the body, or possibly a sign of infection.  The black may be a collection of dried blood.  However, over the internet without ability to examine it is difficult to say for sure.  You may want to bring this to the attention of your surgeon to assess.

a follow up to my previous post: Thank you, I missed my doctors return phone call today to ask about the blackening. The surgical nurse called me and said high level of path report was: patchy fibrocystic change of duct ectasia, stromal fibrosis patchy chronic inflamation no malignancy identified mild focal radial scar formation. the Dr message today said that he was returning my call and that we need to watch very closely due to the size and the fact that there is a radial scar. I respect his opinion and knowledge, I am trying to decide if I should get a second opinion or wait 4 more months for another repeat mammo and ultrasound. From what i have read on the internet radial scars "may be precursers" but all the facts aren't in and the reports I read said depending on the size of the radial scar it should be removed. Mine is pretty large 7 cm total mass size. My concern is the rate it is growing... Any feedback would be appreciated
