Dont Judge A Book By Its Cover!!!!

We had a chat 2day about Jesus, religion, judging a person by the outward look when walking n2 a church! Or meeting a man or woman of God on the streets & not realize it because of how they are dressed!! & i told them that it happens 2 me all the time. When i walk n2 a visiting church people look @ my outward appearance & automatically think that i bang & that i came 2b delivered! But when God puts words n2 my mouth their whole facial expression changes! Now its hey brother nice 2 meet you can you rap 4us n gospel or can you lead us in prayer! The same as when im on the streets cripz, bloodz, esaayz, they throw up gang signs & say hey where are u from? Then thats when i tell them that i represent christ! So now that confronting spirit has 2 bow down n Gods authority!!  Now its time 2 try & save these lost souls amen!! bs4c:

I dont know the answer to this but i am sure someone will.  My dad was really against marking up your body but he actually liked mine.....he said they were tastefully done.

ah we have a little rebel in the both of us huh,,my Dad was so mad..he is ok with it now, I am thinking of getting one more,,,,now here is a question I have a friend who says it states in the bible it is a sin to mark your body, she is against tattoos, cause of this, do you or anyone know if that is fact?

I got my first tattoo on my 40th too!!!!!  Now i am addicted to those things!!!!  LOL

I know Sara thats just the point I was trying to make,.,the man I was envisioning in my mind was someone I gave my leftover food to from a resturant in detroit,,he appeared to be on drugs his eyes looked pupils constricted, jaundiced etc, i kinda know the signs but your right we do not know,,unless said man go the care he needs and deserves I was just assuming and that is wrong.

Hey I got a tat also,,LOL and I kinda love it it was my 40th bd gift from me to me. I got this friend at school oh piercings of many face parts lots of tattoos etc,but one of the kindest and smartest people I know just marches to the eat of his own band and thats ok, I really agree w you about stereotyping,,it stinks all lack people do not dance well, all asians are not good at math , some white men can jump ohh its just ridiculous.

This is what i have said for so long......we are so stereotyped in this world.  You made mention about walking past a homeless drug addicted person.....Not every person that is homeless is an addict. Some are just homeless.  Addiction doesnt care about social status or how much money you have in the bank......It affects ALL walks of life.  I also am from the hippie days, have tattoos and really do look the loady type.  I still have people come up to me and ask me if i know where they can score...I just smile and tell them no and if they would like to stop that insanity i would be more than happy to help them.

We should never judge one upon looks a devil comes in sheeps clothing, and when we walk past a homeless, drug addicted looking person we dont really know do we? We are not in the shoes of other people, I realy cant stand the social status thing...see it all the time , example when i worked in hospital nurses where too good to eat lunch w nurses aids, aids were not supposed to talk to housekeepers, it made me so mad. I deliberatley ate w the housekeepers every day. No one is better than another, money status does not make the man or woman..faith and character do.

Amen teko! I know u where proud of ur son. Especially after becoming a pastor. I know u mentioned that he had passed away awhile back. & 4 people 2 judge him because of aids! Is dead out wrong!! Like u said God knows when it's time 4us 2 leave here! Not man! That's why it's always good 2 just get 2 know a person 1st b4 passing judgement!!

We are a work in progress, each and every one of us. The only thing that sets us apart from others is the fact that we are forgiven. Thanks be to god that he looks upon the heart of man, because we are after all still flesh and blood. We are really no better than the next. God does not judge sin the way we do. A lie is a lie, adultry can be looking upon a woman with lust, judgement of another can be anything from the way one dresses, the color of the skin, or where and how he lives. We turn to our god to perfect us into what he wants us to be and to use us as he sees fit. My son died of aids. He was married, had two kids, not gay,  and back then the only support for someone who had aids was based on them being gay. Can you just imagine what he went thru, the judgement and condemnation? His wife left and he never saw his kids again, they did not even come to the funeral! He became a pastor before he died and on his tombstone, I so proudly put. Rev and then his name. I do not blame illness and sickness on God. I was actually grateful when God took him home. (I do believe God has to give the ok to die). I am just now becoming re aquainted with my grandkids who are 19 and 17.

Amen! A guy @ my job ran n2 a man who was tatted up & was in a motorcycle club who wore plain clothing! But what he didn't know that this guy was Also a pastor!!

Awesome and inspiring testimonies. It saddens me how so many so-called "Christians" judge others. I have run into that problem a lot here in my town and church. I mean, if they don't like you or how you dress or believe, forget it. Also, I just left a Christian on-line forum, I had been a member for about 3 years, to be honest, they never really accepted me, I would post things that I thought they would enjoy, but they would ignore me, if someone else posted something similar, they were told how great it was. When I was sick and not on-line, no one sent an e-mail to see how I was. I mean, it just was not nice and many a time I would sign off crying as no one  had responded to things I wrote or shared, no one seemed to care how I was feeling, etc. This is supposed to be the number one Christian forum on the net too, I guess I just was not what they wanted. Oh, and just because I liked certain ministers and they didn't caused them again to sort of ostracize me, it hurt, big time, I need to pray to get over it. I can not delete myself from the group, but, I just no longer go, it has been since July, and guess what, no one has mailed me to see what is wrong. Gee, it hurts. :(

Wow, thank you both for sharing your stories. It's sad that people can so easily assume they know someone by how they look. You're right, bold, we shouldn't judge a book by its cover. I would have liked to see the look on their faces when you told them who you represent :)

Amen my brother...I was or am older and came from the Hippie genaration and when I fist was saved ppl would think ..look at the stoner....which at omne time was true...but Jesus delivered me from that...well now i am going bald and well u know....but in the church i go to now we have a great youth group..but if you would meet them on the street u wouldn't know they were of God......But thats why God uses them to reach ppl of similer backrounds..Praise God.....brian
