Thank you for providing information for me. It is very helpful as I always want to research all possibilities. I know that I can fight anything even if chances are slim if I have a clue as to what I might be confronted with. I"m a fighter or I would not be alive today!
Again, thank you so much!

Hi,
Liver biopsy, in combination with history and physical examination data, is a powerful clinical tool for diagnosing and treating liver disease. Some of the most common indications for obtaining a biopsy specimen are listed in as follows:
Evaluation of abnormal hepatic laboratory test results( in your case it would be elevated liver enzymes), Confirmation of diagnosis( which can be reached on the basis of clinical history and initial blood work-up) and suspected hepatic neoplasm( cancer).
The biopsy specimen may be used to identify or exclude possible causes for physical or laboratory abnormalities.
Patients with mild liver disease may have few or no symptoms or signs. Patients with more serious disease develop symptoms and signs that may be nonspecific or specific.
Nonspecific symptoms include:fatigue, weakness, vague abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. The easy bruising is due to decreased production of blood clotting factors by the diseased liver.

The actual outcome of the biopsy results will depend on the what the preliminary diagnosis was based on your history and assessment made by your physician.
