Had a 22 yr pt dx laryngeal cancer caused by HPV..

I know the STD forum is closed, thus I dont necessarily expect a response...but heres my story/question...im an RN of 10 yrs, had a 22 yr old female pt with dx of laryngeal cancer supposedly caused by HPV...I say “supposedly” because I was unable to find a pathology report, only MD documentations/operative reports stating malignant papillary tumor removal. I asked the pt and she told me she had been told it was caused from HPV but was confused still as no Dr explained what this meant (I have doubts she ever asked, in my experience most pts fail to ask Drs what they want to know based on various reasons...never hesitating to ask their nurse..which is fine, it’s irritating at times but the name of the game I signed up for was to assume the responsibility as middle man so...with stuff like this I try to find out best I can without bothering the dr on duty...I couldnt find anything...and I myself wonder about this in particular  because like 70%of sexually active people have some strain of HPV...I am so thankful for the gaurdisol vaccine,
It is my job to teach: the importance of prevention and early intervention...but I dont see drs scoping/biopsing the throats of young people...only their cervixes...As any dr would know this 22 yr old now has a feeding tube, taste buds gone,  speaks in a whisper due to radiation...again I must repeat: she is 22..(oh and no smoking or heavy drinking hx, no family cancer hx either)
