Pancreatic Cancer

I have a friend that is sick with pancreatic cancer I don't know what kind he has. I don't know if it's exocrine or endocrine but what I would like to know is what is the survival rate for individuals with this type of cancer. However age, race, gender all of that play a part. My friend was diagnosed in August 2010 and I'm not sure on whether he is taking treatments as of yet he is an elderly man and he continues to do the things that he was doing before he was diagnosed with this disease. I know that pancreatic cancer is supposed to be the 4th leading deadly cancer and it's called the silent killer because most people get a diagnoses in the advanced stages but I am still unsure about some things professional advice would be helpful.
