CT Scan and Ultrasound

Hi!

I want to ask a question about something that happened to my mother.

She has has various pains in her stomach for a long time, headaches used to be a common occurences and pain to one side. SHe had various CT scans on her brain etc and all seemed well. At times the doctors believed it was to do with excess acid production.
She had various endoscopy which I believe were fine.

However recently she had an ultrasound of her stomach (I believe) and followed by a CT scan of her stomach.

The Doctor said their was "REDNESS" and that he would be refering the scan to a consultant who might be understand the scans and the results are due in 2 weeks.

She also said when they injected her with the thing for the CT scan afterwards she felt alot pain in her abdomen region and back. She says she cant eat spices in her diet (which have been main element of her diet for a long time).

I want to know what this "REDNESS" possibly can be....ALL possibilities....and how it its visible on the CT and/or ultrasound tests she did last.

PLEASE HELP! thank you.

Thanks Eureka.

That was very very helpful!

And I hope so too, especially with the rise in cancer rates around the world =(((

I assume in might be acid caused. But I am no specialist.

Thanks again and Best wishes

I can't really comment about any general "redness," but I hope that it's something benign and fixable, and not cancer.  Indeed people who have excess acid production can find spices irritating over time so hopefully her doctors can find and solve the problem.  I do want to make one suggestion:  after CT-Scan it's important to try to drink lots of fluid to flush out the contrast that's injected during the procedure.  It's not unusual to feel a rush of warmth after injection -- most people feel mild reactions, some more severe, but as long as your mother has not developed a severe allergic reaction to the dye, just have her drink lots of water.  Best of luck with your mother's results.~eureka
