Is her attention span too long?

My daughter is just over two years old.  She displays normal behavior and is very intelligent and a large vocabulary.  My only concern is that she can spend hours sitting at the table coloring.  My friends children can only seem to sit still like this for fifteen minutes or so, but our daughter can sit for, literally, hours, coloring.  Not sure if I should even be concerned, but thought I'd check.  Thanks, Dan

This is a serious question (not a child playing a joke or a parent boasting of their childs intelligence).  I'm not overly worried, I just read that children of her age should only have about a max of about twenty minutes on a single task.  The worry comes from discussions about autism.

I trust Dan you did not find my post humiliating in any way or sarcastic I am not prone to either of them ,and we do appreciate you had a genuine worry here, I think your little girl is doing okay.

I did not "read" any sarcasm.  Nor did I see any humiliation or belittling.  Sometimes, parents post questions not to get help or find answers, but to brag and stroke their egos.  And, I am not saying this was the intent of the poster.  Sometimes children post as adults as a "joke".  Just the reality of a computer forum - good questions, bad questions, silly questions, etc. good answers, bad answers, silly answers, etc.

Why the sarcasm?  It really doesn't help.  This board should be about supporting one another not making others feel bad.  Many first time parents come here for answers to questions that may seem silly to others but it is serious to them.  I can relate to worries Dan...if something seems extreme we worry.  That's what parents do...then they come here for support, advise, and answers.  Not humiliation and belittling.

Lighten up people...

Are you serious,  Dan?  You think this actually might be a concern?  I wonder if Michael Phelps dad was worried because his son swims faster than the other boys - all the other boys swim slower,  should he be worried?

I don't mean to make light of your question,  but really,  it's hard to believe you would think this is a concern.

No it isnt too long, dont read anything into it other than this is a clever bright little girl enjoying and being engrossed in what she is doing, do not listen if you hear otherwise, relavx and enjoy her.
