Oh. I read the title of the post. Maybe I saw the word phobia and then used it as essentially that was what the poster was implying. Sorry as nothing was intentionally posted to disagree. My eye sight is way too bad to use my phone for this. I have to enlarge and basically should probably wait until I am at my PC to be more 'PC'. Again just wanted to help the poster but didn't"t mean to step on toes.
I don't disagree with you. However, my posts are the only ones that mention phobia.
Sorry for typos. I am on my phone and it takes auto correct to a new--- bad--- level.
I was giving my opinion. I stick to that. If she learns more about sensory in whatever fashion I am guessing more things wi ring a bell. My sons eating issues were some of his earliest signs of sensory preceding issues. It's pretty classic. Anyway my post was meant for the mother and I actually read no other posts as I am remote this week so wasn't contradicting anything anyone else said . I think it is unlikely to be a phobia and more a texture issue. We conquered this and I hope the poster can as well.
Whether it is a phobia or a sensory problem isn't the point. I think that it is important for this parent to get this behavior checked out by the child's pediatrician. After all, all we are doing is guessing based on the little info that we have.
It sounds like a sensory problem to me. Doubt it is a phobia and would google sensory processing disorder as it relates to eating. Had this issue w my son. Good book is 'Food chaining' to help. But a fruit and vehicle phobia is very unlikely. Good luck
You may want to have your daughter evaluated by her pediatrician to rule out any phobias.
No she is not sesitive to another stuff but has a fear from Male gender who is new to her. She will hide herself behind us if she sees a new male. She can not do the eye contact with a stranger Male.
'The fear is from when she got senses means at age arround 1.'
This means we noticed this fear when she turned one and was able to express the same
Is she sensitive to anything else - like textures of clothes, sound, light, etc.?
I don't know what this means:
'The fear is from when she got senses means at age arround 1.'
Can you elaborate?
It sounds as if your daughter may have a phobia that probably should be best evaluated by a mental health professional for treatment.
The fear is from when she got senses means at age arround 1. Whenever we bring the fruits or veggies near her, she screams, puts hands on her mouth and nose. We can not even do the grocery shopping with her. Also if she even see any fruit seed or peel on road she wont cross that road also. She will scream. She often complains that she does not like smell. She does this for each and every fruits or raw vegetable having any smell or not, even if she sees it for first time. She has not experienced unpleasant after which it started. She doesnot take any fruits in any form be it shakes, or juices or jams even
Does she fear fruits and veggies or is it that she just doesn't like to eat them? Did this behavior just begin? If this behavior just began, did something happen to her or did she experience an unpleasant event at the time that this behavior just began?
