My 7 Year Old at soccer

I was wondering if I notice my daughter who is 7 seems fine first night of soccer (monday) when I take her, but when her dad takes her on (wed), he says she lays down on the field, picks grass, cries. He tells me he was totally embarassed. Is it a problem with her or with him do you think? I asked her on the phone cause I was working if she had fun and she said yes. But, her heart was broken. He would never harm her by spanking etc. I feel I will need to go with them to ensure she enjoys her game. What do you think?

Ya, you need to be there.  A lot may simply be about expectations.  I'll always remember a child who used his fingers to shoot at kids as they dribbled the ball past him instead of trying to take the ball away.  He turned out just fine, but his parents will kind of amused (putting it mildly) by the whole thing.    There may be those embarrassing moments.  Hubby can't show them.  Soccer is (well can be) a wonderful experience (I'm kind of biased).  Overall, unless the coach is a real jerk - just support the child and the team.

It's hard to say what happened.  Perhaps she was just having a bad day or perhaps she felt he was pushing her?  I agree, go with them next time and you will probably gain a lot more insight.
