help for daughter

I am the mother of two daughters one 7 1/2 and the other 4. My oldest has just continued to get worst and worst here lately. One mintue she is fine and happy and the next she is screaming and yelling at me and hitting things and pointing at me like she is gonna hit me. She has had a rough time in her life from watching her real father abuse me till she was 1 1/2 and then at the age of 2 1/2 she lost half of her left foot to a lawn mower. I am beginning to fear that she is going to really hurt someone like another kid or her sister. I am at a stand still she is ADHD and i fear there is something else wrong. Has anyone ever heard or seen anything like this. please if anyone can help with any info it would be appricated.

I sure hope you find someone who can help you both...I know it must be frustrating and sad to watch and have to deal with, not to mention exhausting.

Please keep us updated, OK? Ask your daughter's doctor for some good names of counselors who work with children.

Best wishes

I think Ashelen might be correct - there is more going on here than either you or your daughter is able to contend with - "And if she's in counseling....switch counselors" - excellent advice.  The only suggestion I would add is to make sure the person "counselling" has experience in working with young children.  All the best ....

Is she in counseling? I honestly think this might go beyond even the most consistent and strict discipline...for a child to have trauma to that degree both emotionally and physically at such a young and formative age....I really think you might consider counseling if you aren't already.

And if she's in counseling....switch counselors.

Best of luck...it must be difficult...I hope you find something that works.

Is she on any meds for the ADHD as sometimes they can have side effects , ? You need to have some loss of privileges for the behavior , take away something she likes doing TV PC videos . friends over to play. Set some consequences up so she knows its not okay to behave like that .
