lying

My 12 yo son constantly lying about homeworks. Although he is a good student, he is not doing his homeworks timely.I got mails and notes from his teachers about missing or late assignments. I ask him everyday if he is done with his homeworks, remind him every morning to not to forget handing them. He always says "I did all" but when I checked I always find out he is lying. During spring break his punishment was noTV, no Playstation, no computer. He said I was right and he deserved it. But in 2 weeks after school started I understood nothing is changed. I don't know what to do? Any suggestions? His reason for lying is "it is a bad habit that got in to me ,I don't know why ?"

All of the afterschool children did this.  Heck, I even did it!  You have to keep up with the punishments.  12 years old is not too early to visit a college campus and encourage him to keep up with good work and studies in school so that he can enjoy attending a bright, exciting university and move on to work and make tons of money.  My mother did it for me.  I got to see the marching band and football teams and I was just really, really motivated from that point on.

Children get bored just like adults do.  School and home, school and home....They need something new to focus on and work towards.

My son had been doing this for a while before I found a solution.  I made him fill out an assignment sheet signed by his teachers each day if he intended to have privilidges (TV, Nintendo, computer) each day.  The ultimate problem with my son is, he's lazy, and would rather play at home, than do homework.  I hope this works for you.  Good luck and God bless.
