Underweight Toddler/Picky Eater

Hi

My almost 25mth old only weighs only 22 lbs.  She has always been a very picky eater, since starting solids.  She didnt really eat much solids till past 12mths old...even then her diet is quite poor.  For couple of months she may eat well but then for may be 2 -3 weeks she will eat next to nothing and will generally loose any weight she had put on.  We had a blood test done at 23mths and all came normal.  She also has dairy and soy intolerance and was on breastmilk till 24mths but now i have switched her over to fortified rice milk.  I try to add olive oil to her chicken and give her a tsp of flax oil.    She is 50% for height and seems like a happy kid.  She goes to daycare 2x week and i have not heard any complaints about her behavior there but she eats poorly while there.  I am very worried about her health and nutrition.  She is on the polyvisol type of vitamin as she is refusing the toddler vitamin at this point.  Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you
Nitu

This comes up a lot, kids do go through this phase, you dont say what foods she likes, at her age she can feed herself give her finger foods , cheerios and cereal for breakfast, lots of fibre there, some nice fruit with it, Yoghort(dont worry about the mess) Crackers slices of cheese and fish sticks, chicken nuggetts, french fries in her hands to nibble, small teast fingers to put in an egg, scrambled egg, I can go on and on, and dont fuss, these cute kids love the attention, give her her fioood and let her get on with it, she will love it and will eat more.
