Continued Rib Pain

I am a 42 year old female, 155 lbs, non smoker,  who has been having continued pain in the mid back region of my ribs for about 3 months.  I have been to one chiropractor twice and another once.  They have both manipulated my back and said that my rib was out of place.  The last chiropractor I went to is one that I have gone to for many years where I used to live.  He said the problem was with my neck and adjusted it too.  Two days later I still have pain on the right side of my ribs (towards the back just below where my bra fits).  It is especially painful and stiff in the mornings, but as the day goes on it subsides, but never really goes away.  I get relief from naproxen or advil and a heating pad.  You can also feel a raised area along that rib (either 5th or 6th rib from my count) in the back.  I have suggested an xray but was told it was just a rib out of place.  I am starting to get concerned as I have not had this many adjustments with no relief.  I have a seditary job (I work on a computer all day up to 10 hours a day) and thought it may be caused by that.  Is there a possibility that this could be something more serious than a rib out of place?  And why can't I get any relief with so many adjustments?  Any thoughts on what direction I should be going in to get relief would be appreciated.

Sorry about the confusion.  I have been to two different chiropractors since May.  The first one is where I currently live and I have seen him twice to treat my ribs.  The second chiropractor I have seen once for the same problem with my ribs (he has been my chiropractor since 2000 and he is located where I used to live).

I'm a bit confused by your story... you said you've "been one one chiropractor twice and another once." And then you said "The last chiropractor I went to is one that I have gone to for many years..."

Taking frequent breaks throughout the day will be helpful. The posture you're in at work will eventually create problems. Speak to your chiropractor(s) about exercises that you can do during your breaks at work.

Warm wishes,
