Disabilityfrom spondylosos????

S/P cervical fusions in '98 & '99 (anterior/posterior)  Per MRI I was diagnosed with cervical spondylosis/moderate in C 3-4 area. The pain is awful if I am sitting or standing. Pain in neck down arm (L) into fingers. I am miserable. MD placed me on Lortab 7.5mg  1-2 tabs every 4-6 hours for pain and I may take Phenergan 25mg supp. Q6 hrs prn N/V.  Is it possible for this to result in disability? I can't work now. This is causing depression. I need to know what to do. MRI also showed disc dissecation (sp ?). Please comment.  MM

I see you're within a reasonable distance to Atlanta. I would recommend you consider making the drive to see a renowned specialist in chiropractic named Dr. Roy Sweat. His clinic website is here: http://www.sweatinstitute.com/

Thanks for response. I realize these are side effects of med and moreso with meds combined. It is because of these, that I have tried so hard not to take them. I am unable to get OOB due to extreme pain. By taking meds I can tolerate being up for a short while before pain is intolerable. As long as I am lying on side with chin cradled under crossed arms I can tolerate pain by taking only Lortab.. Is this what I have to look forward to? Will this result in my disability. At present, I CAN'T work. This makes me feel awful. Can a chiropractor help? The 2 here at home will not even talk about treatments. Suggestions?

Among the possible drug interactions between Lortab and Phenergan, depression of the central nervous system, hypotension, constipation and psychomotor impairment are listed.
