MRI Results - suggestions

My MRI results are below. I have a Sciatica problem which I'm treating conservatively. Recovery has been slow and has sort of plateaued. My question is what do terms like "desiccated disks" etc mean clinically and which is worst of problems listed. Can I recover completely? I did not initially have any back pain at all, now I do have stiffness & it gets tired from sitting, I also have constant dull ache in sit bone when sitting. But I have far less sharp nerve pain down leg from buttock which was the initial symptom! PT is ongoing, returned to pilates gently.
MRI Results = Straightening of lumbar spine with subtotal loss of lordosis.  Satisfactory vertebral alignment otherwise. Desiccated disks and considerable  disk space narrowing present at L5-S1 and to a lesser extent at L4-L5  level.
There is a small annular disk bulge present at L4-L5 level.
There  is a moderately large focal disk protrusion in the right paracentral position  at L5-S1 level which is compressing the adjacent descending right S1 nerve  root.
The remaining lumbar and visualised lower thoracic intervertebral  disks up to and including T11-12 disk all appeared normal.
Normal lower  cord and conus.

Sorry Adam, I'm 38 female & 6 foot tall. Reasonably active BUT had an ovarian cyst removed 4 months ago by laparotomy which means my ab muscles were all stretched out of the way and I have a scar similar to that from a Caesarian. This has meant my activity has been limited to walking and working my way back into Pilates. I also swim a bit.
Does taking oil or eating a lot of oily fish etc do anything to reverse the desiccation?

I cannot comment on your ability to recover because I don't know anything about your age, lifestyle, activity level, etc... However, "dessication" is a drying out or dehydrating effect of the vertebral disc.
