neck pain

I have seen a ortho who diagnosed me just by looking at me that I had a cervical strain. He sent me to pt needless to say after 2 days I was in so much pain that I stopped. So unable to reach my doctor I went to a chiroprator who actually took x-rays before he diagnosed and said I had nerve entrapment in c6. I have had one treatment but  now I am in so much pain that I can not deal with it. My question or advice from you is what to do?

If the MRI is clear, and nothing shows up, you may have an irritation of the brachial plexus. Someone who knows how to deal with trigger points would be the solution if this is the case.

When patients have this type of pain, there are very sore spots in the sides of the neck above and below C6, as well as at the area of your pec minor muscle, beneath your clavicle.

The pain is worse around where the c6 is but can radiate up the spine and out across shoulders. Sometimes I have some sensations from my armpit to the elbow. But my main problems is a sometimes extremely dull ache that leads to a sharp pain in my neck. I have an mri scheduled for tomorrow so maybe this will help to find out what is causing this. Thanks for your reply.

What type of pain are you experiencing... can you describe it for me?
