Sprained Back won't heal

I've had a sprained back for seven weeks now. It's mostly pain underneath the shoulder blades. Yesterday I went to a physical therapist and he told me to do some stretches but that seems to have reaggravated the problem even more. Now my shoulder blades are swollen and they ache like crazy. I'd appreciate some advice. It's really quite painful and it's keeping me out of work. Thanks.

I'd suggest finding a practitioner who specializes in Active Release Technique to help you recover from this injury... Here's a website with a provider directory: http://tinyurl.com/qwsurl

Fell backwards on outstretched hands. Experiencing pain between shoulder blades and soreness in lower back. There seems to be excess cartilage over the right shoulder blade as well. I'm also experiencing slight nerve pain in both arms and my hurts slightly from typing. For the first two weeks there was severe nerve pain in upper back but now the pain feels more localized in the shoulder blades and feels more like muscles aches than nerve pain.

It's impossible for me to accept "sprained back" as a diagnosis. Something more specific can be said about the problem...

Imagine how ridiculous it would sound if a medical doctor told you that you had a "sprained front."

What happened seven weeks ago before the pain began? Give me some more background info and I'll see what suggestions I have to offer...
