Breathe heavily after little excertion

About 10 years ago,I got pneumonia from a hospital. After treatment, I still  didn't feel well. One specialist said my lung was very big after seeing my X-ray film. After that,I didn't take any medicine.

Recently,I breathe heavily and feel uncomfortable inside the chest after little excertion. After the pneumonia,I have whitish phlem all along.I think I have COPD.Would the doctor please advise?

It is hard to say why this problem is occurring and if it related to your history 10 years ago.  I would suggest speaking with your physician and getting a breathing test, called spirometry, when you are having the symptoms.  That will help to identify the problem.  Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is most often, not always, associated with someone who has been a smoker for a period of years.  You did not mention this in your posting.

Thank you for your reply.I'm not smoker. The problems i mentioned are defintely due to the treatment of my pneumonia 10 years ago.I think the doctors didn't cure my ailment well. The doctor didn't do a CT  scan after a course of antibiotic-- only chest X-rays were done. The doctors said my lung is  OK even thou i complained of problem such having whitish phelm, One specialist  said my lung was very long which look like i am a smoker.Another specialist said my lung was very big and said it can't be cured and prescribed me 'inhalers'.

Can pneumonia not properly treated causes my present problem? If it is COPD,should i see a speicalist or GP?
