forgot to mention that i am 47 yrs old and female and 62 inches tall. i think that is also needed to read the results .
You really should discuss these results with your doctor and not depend on the RT for interpretation. Also, any interpretation should be made, only with the assurance that your effort was good and the test results deemed valid. These results show a reduction in forced vital capacity (FVC), which is the amount of air exhaled after taking in a deep breath, forced expiratory volume in first second (FEV1), which is the amount of air expelled in the first second after forced expiration begins and the FEV1/FVC ratio of 45.6%. This ratio shows that the FEV1 is reduced out of proportion to the reduction in FVC and FEV6 and that suggests that you have obstruction to air flow as is seen with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
There is another measurement called ‘lung volumes’ and that would help with the interpretation of the values you sent.
You may benefit from seeing a lung specialist. If you smoke, you must stop smoking, immediately.
