COPD

yes, I have COPD and I am currently on oxygen while sleeping and I took a test without the oxygen and my levels went to 44 4-5 times during the night. I told my doctor but he didn't seem to worried but I am. I asked him if I have Sleep Apnea and he said that he would contact a lung doctor but haven't heard anything yet. My question is I don't feel rested when I get up in the morning and sometimes I fall asleep while sitting in church, and sometimes while driving. Is it possible that I have sleep apnea since I COPD on the border line of moderate to severe. Please Help

Not to be mean, but if you fall asleep while DRIVING you should not BE driving. That's so dangerous for you and everyone else on the road. I know you don't want to be responsible for hurting someone! If you can get an appointment for a sleep study without a referral from your doc go ahead and do it. Good luck to you

Are you saying your blood oxygen dropped to 44 per cent while you were asleep? How do you know that? I sounds extremely unlikely. I haven't checked it out but I should think at that level your brain would be shutting down.
