Chest Pain and shortness of breath

Hi I  am a 57 year old female. Two weeks ago I woke up with pain or tightness in my chest and very shortwinded. I had been cleaning up the day before and was exposed to allot of dust. I thought maybe it could be a combination of the dust and anxiety as I was going to visit my family for the Thanksgiving Holidays but it has been getting worse and I have it everyday. I especially get the pains when I am doing things like vacuming or lifting heavy objects. I actually have to hold on to something until I can catch my breath. I had been seeing an ENT doctor back in September for a very bad sinus infection that would not go away. I was taking all sorts of antibiotics and steroids but it would not go away the doctor told me that if the last round of antibiotics didn't work they would consider surgery to drain my sinus. Here we are in December and it's still hanging around not much but I still have to blow my nose everymoring and I still have a cough.  I do smoke but not as much as my live in boyfriend . The doctor had told me if I wan't careful that I could get cronic bronchitis. I was just wondering if these symptoms are a sighn that I have COPD.

COPD does not attack suddenly. Sounds more like an infection. For both infectious and non-infectious bronchitis it is extremely helpful to to take 1000 mg of vitamin B5 until the condition subsides. B5 is both a mucus thinner and an anti-inflammatory. There are no side effects. I have been taking B5 for chronic bronchitis for a long time. I also take 500 of vitamin C, another anti-inflammatory.
