new diagnosis

my doctor did not ask to see me, i just picked up the results of my test in his office.
is this ok?  that i dont see my dr.?  
the  report read, there is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.  the heart is not enlarged.  pacemaker electrodes remain in position. no phnumothorax, atelectasis or consolidation is seen.  there is mild dorsal kyphosis.

THIS IS NOT OK i would take the results and go find another doctor i would take the whole chart as well and just transfer to a new office that is in no way shape or form acceptable

I'll bet he is an HMO guy. They don't feel the need to treat the patient like a paying customer, even though he is.

I agree with bsmsl.  You should ask your doctor to mail you a written explanation of the test results.  It sounds as if there is nothing to be alarmed about ... but why should you have to guess?

I don't think it is ok.  Your doctor should explain what the test results mean either during a follow-up visit or by writing you a letter and including the test results.  I wouldn't trust a doc who just gave me the results to read and interpret on my own.
