Not many people are real active on the COPD forum. I try to answer the easy stuff and mainly give people hope. I cannot even gander a guess to your questions. All I can do is offer my support and encourage you to keep digging. You sound like a fighter. You have been through an awful lot. And I know it is frustrating, when no one, especially doctors and many tests later, you still have no answer. But like you, I believe the answer is out there.
My COPD was quick and easy for the doctors to discover. I had cancer 20 yrs. ago. I went through a number of biopsies and testing for 3 months. The doctor knew I had cancer, just could not determine exactly where it was coming from. I was sick and fed up with being prodded on like you said.
My mother had idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Deadly lung disease. It took them 3 years to figure out, what was wrong with her. She went through heart tests, blood tests, lung specialists etc. And the lung specialists totally missed the pulmonary fibrosis. She kept at it though, until she found the answer. Finding it early would not have saved her life. But, she went through a whole lot to find the answer.
As I said, I am in the moderate stage of COPD. My feet have been turning blue black for some long while. And I look purplish around the lips at times. I am not on oxygen. Probably need to be maybe.
But anyway, just wanted to say, I do understand and know where you are coming from. I pray and hope you find the answer to why, you are turning blue from chest area up into your face. Maybe someone else will see your post and hopefully can provide an answer. So many tests and still no answers, can be totally frustrating and upsetting. My heart goes out to you. It truly does. I try to encourage and give hope, are basically all I can provide on this forum.
I will pray for you and God bless you.
Papa, you may want to try the Respiratory Disorders forum here on Medhelp. It is more active with answers than the COPD forum seems. Maybe post there and we can hope and pray you get an answer. Once again God bless
