Large Volume Paracentesis Without Albumin Replacement

Can you please explain to me what the side affects would be if a large
volume paracentesis (12.25L) was performed and Albumin was not used
for a replacement?  I am not a doctor and reading the journals is difficult
for me.  The paracentesis was therapeutic for non-malignant Ascites.

Hi sorry but none of us here are doctors or medical workers of any kind. We are a community of patients living with liver cirrhosis. For myself I have been living with cirrhosis since 2008.

All I can suggest is continue your research from reputable web sites as that is all I could do for you and you are ahead of me with your search for information.

However, my best suggestion would be to discuss this with the hepatologist treating the patient. They would be your best source of medical advice due to their familiarity with the patients overall health and their years of medical training. If you don’t have a good rapport with the doctor you can always speak with a different specialist.
