Sgpt 66, sgot 29

A month ago my sgpt is 71 and i have gone med for a month then it became 66,but my sgot is 29. No im confused what could be the meaning of the result. The lab normal level is: 41 for sgpt and 40 for sgot. I am also a heavy drinker but stopped when diagnosed with high sgpt. Is this an indication of hepstitis?

I am not clear what you mean when you wrote:

"i have gone med for a month" but anyway elevated liver enzymes  mean something is aggravating your liver however elevated liver and zymes do not indicate how much liver damage has occurred.

The  Word hepatitis comes from hepa which means liver and -itis which means inflammation. So hepatitis means liver inflammation which can be caused by many things.

Drinking alcohol can cause an increase in liver enzymes as can certain medicines. Also there are several viruses that specifically attack the liver like hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and others.

Being overweight can cause fatty liver with fat cells inside the liver also cause an increase in liver enzymes.

The only way to know why you have elevated liver enzymes is to see a doctor and get a proper diagnosis. Then you can address the cause and hopefully do something to stop or minimize any liver injury that may be occurring.

I have also got ultrasound and the liver is Normal

Good but you need to find out what is causing the elevated enzymes. Can't really diagnose liver damage with a ultrasound. And ultrasound testing won't tell you why
