is this normal

my dad is end stage cirrhosis and hospice has stepped in. the agitation is physically and emotionally wearing me out and he hasn't eat in a week.  last night he actually complained of his back hurting .is this all normal?

I'm also so sorry that your family is going thru this.  As Hector said usually not eating indicates his life may end soon. This happened recently in my life as well a few months ago and Hospice was wonderful.
I know that your dad is lucky to have you with him and hope for peace and comfort in the days ahead.

This must be so difficult for you and your family. My heart goes out to you. I sincerely hope your father's death is peaceful and you find solace in the fact that you were there for him at a time when your presence was so important

I am very sorry to hear that your dad at the end of his life.
Seeing a loved one going through the dying process is one of the most difficult experiences in life.

When a person stops eating the end of their suffering and life is near.

It sounds like you are doing everything you can to "be there" for your dad. That is all any of us can do for another person at the end of life. You are doing everything you can for your dad and I am sure it is appreciated.
