I dont know about his glands, but i believe he has redness in the gums, not sure about being swollen....I dont think he has tried the compresses....does he use wet one or hot one? we have tried garlic, which worked the first couple times, onion same thing, tried salt & pepper paste, did not work, baking soda worked a few times, some type of cloves my friend gave us worked a couple times....he has tried swishing peroxide, tried rock salt...nothing else has really really worked....he has taken ibprofin 800 milligrams, percocet, my migraine otc pills which contains aspirin....almost all of those have brought some but little relief....i just dont know what else to do for him...we cant afford a dentist right now....about the antibiotics, can he go to a regular doctor to get them for his teeth or does he need to see a dentist for them? any input is appreciated...
the problem is we have 4 kids and limited income, we cant afford a dentist right now, we havent been able to, thats why we havent been able to get the last 3 pulled...none of the dentists i have found will take payment arrangements and each tooth they want like 100 dollars and we cant afford that all at once, the sideways one they want almost 300 dollars for, they said it would be like 600 total with the pulling and the exam, x-rays and such, we just cant do it right now....I did however find a dentist that might take him for the exam 50 dollars and the teeth would be anywhere from 60-120 each except for the one in sideways....I dont know yet, we have to see if we will have the money this coming month, but the appt is not for 2 more weeks, thats the earliest they had, is there anything i could do for him in the meantime???
Now, i am not a dentist or in school to be one, but i do deal with dental pain on a daily basis and have for the past 2 years.
Has he tried any compresses? When all else fails, they seem to be one of the few things that cause any relief. but remember, 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off
Also, make sure there is no infection. The easiest way to get an idea of this at home is by checking for swelling or redness of the gums and if his glands are swollen. Typically for me, the first glands to swell are the Submandibular gland located right under both sides of the jaw. If you notice any of these, go to your doctor and tell him that you think you may have an infection and get the antibiotics. That, alone, can cause the full head pain.
When it comes to pain killers, what kinds is he taking? Personally, i find that ibuprofen works the best for me due to the fact that it will help decrease swelling in the glands and the gums if that's the problem.
I hope you and your boyfriend the best and i hope i informed you of something you might have not known
