Husband has CHF and they want to do a home Dobutamine pump

My husband has had CHF for 13 years. He has had a very bad year with various other health conditions that caused his CHF to no longer be stable. They now want to do a dobutamine pump at home. I know this is considered a end of life and to help patient with symptoms. But how long can he live with a dobutamine pump? He was doing so well until other situations caused him to have more problems with his heart keeping up with the other conditions. I don't want to lose him - and after 3 episodes of dobutamine in the hospital this year - all I can see is that after each use, he gets worse and has more BAD conditions following - including now renal failure. How long has the longest patient lived with an at home dobutamine pump? Help me please
