Hi,
How are you? Dilated cardiomyopathy is a condition in which the heart becomes weakened and enlarged, and it cannot pump blood efficiently. This decreased heart function can affect the lungs, liver, and other body systems. When the cause of the dilated cardiomyopathy can be found, that condition can be treated. The outcome or prognosis varies. Some people remain in a stable condition, some continue to gradually get sicker, and others quickly get worse. It is important that the disease or cause be cured to correct the cardiomyopathy. Regular follow-up to your doctor is also recommended. Take care and regards.
Dialated Cardiomyopathy is a complicated diagnosis. I have been labled the same, my EF began falling in March 2007 from 55 to 19 May 2008. I was told no bypass could be done due to bad veins. Had 4 grafts done in 1987, my RTA reblocked in 2000. Then one of the three on left side blocked greater than 50%, this was stented in July 2008. Doctors told me diet, drugs and exercise would be my tasks until such time as a transplant was warranted and approved.
I choose to have adult stem cell treatment beginning with Vescell (type in search engine) which meant I had to go to Bangkok to get it done. This treatment was done July 2008. I have had a second treatment in El Salvador this past December 2009. I have been pleased with my results my EF is back to mid 30's. My next ECHO will be this month, 90 days after the bone marrow transplant into the inner wall of the heart via a catheter, i.e. non invasive.
www.vescell.com and www.fvina.com will get you info regarding this emerging techno treatment. Its call Regenertive Medicine.
