Hi I am a 30 yr old mum to 2 and an 8 month old dog!
I was diagnosed with Myocarditis & Dilated cardiomyopathy 2 years ago (possibly due to a virus)
Recently they found I am having attacks of Ventricular Tachycardia and Ive been told I need a Defibrillator/Pacemaker in the next few weeks (very scary!)
I spoke to my friends father who had one fitted at the begining of the year, he said he is very thankful and it has changed his life for the better! He has got back to normality, which hadn't had for a while and it removes that nagging worry in the back of your'e mind.
This news helped me rest a little easier, I hope it helps you?
Good luck
Tara
There are a few people on the forums who have experienced PPCM. I'm hoping they see your message and will respond.
I'm happy to hear you are doing OK. Please do your best to get rest and take things at your pace. When are you scheduled for your pacemaker implant? You may actually find that you will feel better with the unit.
Please think about posting your question on the Heart Disease forum also. It's great here, but the Heart Failure forum is new and more members will see your question if it's on both boards. Also, try putting something in the subject like: Postpartum Cardiomyopathy so our other PPCM moms will see it. Best of everything! Stick around and let us know how you're doing....
