Fiber Relief?

I am in the process right now, which has taken 4 months already, to get a diagnosis for my lower right abdominal pain. The gastroenterologist thinks I have Crohn's disease, and I am in waiting right now to have a capsule endoscopy, and have no idea how long this wait is going to be. My problem is I am in agony, and if any one has any ideas of anything that can relieve abdominal pain I would greatly appreciate it. I am currently taking a generic form of Vicodin, Hydrocodine, but I can not take this at work. An on call doctor has suggested taking fiber, but I have heard that this could make my symptoms even worse. I am hanging on barley here, so if any one has any ideas of anything that may help, so I can make it through, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you so much for the advise. I really appreciate any ideas I can get at this point. I have pretty much been on a rarely eating diet anyhow, and was seriously debating the all liquid diet. They have now prescribed a generic form of phenobarbital for me, any idea if this helps? Thanks for the well wishes.

Hello, the only thing that helped me with bouts of pain is stop eating solid food, and switch to a liquid diet for a few days ie chicken broth , beef broth, jello, no coffee or tea or anything with caffeine. Just kinda give your intestinal tract a little break. The vicodin really isnt that strong of a pain reliever in moderation, 1 every 4 hours, It should help. whatever you do good luck
