HEADACHES AND IBD

I have been a headache migraine sufferer since i was approximately 12 yrs old. They don't appear for months on end other then your typical tension or sinus headaches then out of no where they'll invade my life for at minimum 2 month cycle. The last time was in 2011-2012 I suffered with migraines non stop from Nov 2011 till April 2012 when i had a blood clot removed in my head 2 weeks later i had a minor stroke. When they did the MRI and cat scan they found what was believed to be an aneurysm in the anterior communicating artery. However 3 months later i had another scan which revealed the suspected aneurysm was gone but there was a suspected blister aneurysm on the left frontal lobe. when Brisbane hospital did a cerebral angiogram they couldn't find anything of this nature. When they did the MRI scan I was laying on my back still for over half an hour, my left side had gone completely numb. This is not the first time either. I can not sleep on my back or lay on my back for any length of time as I get tingly sensations coldness and then numbness generally down my left side. this side is also the same side i suffered with weakness as a result of the stroke. I have been suffering with this problem since before my stroke. I get a lot of pain in the base of my skull where the neck is right up under the skull itself predominately the pain is on one side however like at the moment the pain can be on both sides. when this happens there is huge amounts of pressure and pain on the top of my head in the brain. I woke this morning with this after having constant headaches for the last couple of days. It felt like my top part of the brain was sitting on another step up but tightly holding onto and stretching the rest of my brain. this particular feeling is a first. iv had pressure before but this type was and is completely new. I suspect it has something to do with either my spine\ nerves or\and the aorta artery. sometimes like these last couple of days it feels like there is a kink in the aorta right where the neck and skull join.
Then there is my allergy to wheat. Again since I was about 12 years old i have had problems with wheat however i did not know then that is what it was. I have always had colic and wind up till 4 years ago when i had to stop eating wheat.  I have had my gall bladder removed May 2003. I have a doctors appointment next week to see if I can get a referral done to be tested for IBD such as crohns disease as this one i appear to have all the symptoms. I have recently noticed it isn't just wheat im having problems with, it is other foods as well. Through an attack or flare up i have pain all down the right side of my stomach (where the large intestine is) bloating gas colic diarrhea blood occasionally in the stools, sometimes dark red and sometimes bright red. At times this would last for a couple of months before i stopped eating wheat. I get ulcers or blisters particularly under my tongue most of the time even with no signs of a flare up. particularly when i have orange juice within 20 mins of oranges and orange juice i break out in ulcers and sores all through my mouth. these are very painful and i have needed doctors medications to help. I suffer with chronic tiredness which can get depressing particularly when it severely interferes with daily living. see i am a single mum and am studying, so it is vitally important to be alert and awake. however these times like the last 3 weeks im constantly tired but can not sleep then i can not wake it is so debilitating day after day. I pray i can find someone to help me. I need to get back some quality of life.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. Back pain worse when sitting or lying down and feels better with movement is usually caused by ankylosing spondylitis. This is a genetic condition. Diagnosis is by typical X-ray changes, sacroilitis, raised ESR and c-reactive protein and MRI of sacro-iliac joints. Medicines, physiotherapy, exercises and drugs to suppress immunity are the mainstay of treatment.
A back pain that is worse on lying down or felt mainly on lying down can also be due to a tumor within the spinal cord. A neurological examination can pinpoint the site.
Other than this you need food challenge tests. Autoimmune diseases should also be looked into. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.
