About  3 years ago my Chrons disease took an opposite turn to the point that I was constipated, bloated, the smell of everything in the kitchen made me sick to my stomach, tired, I had severe brain fog to the point that I couldnt work for 2 years because I wasnt able to function properly.

I ran across a book that discussed the reasons as to why things like this were happening to me and decided to go on this diet.  I have been on this diet for 3 months now and I feel so much better and the brain fog has lifted, the swollen belly, constipation, stomach pain has just about gone.  I feel that this diet has saved my life and I dont think I would have been around much longer if I hadnt gone on it.

Besides from having Chrons, I also have GERD and Lupus.  Trying to be a mother to my 7 yr old son and a wife had been very difficult, some days I didnt want to get out of bed.  My husband commented to me after 2 weeks on the diet of how much better I looked.  The glow to my skin was coming back and the brain fog was lifting.

I am not saying that this book is the ultimate thing out there, all I am saying is that it has helped me.  I have also lost 10 pounds since starting this diet and I eat more now then ever.

There are alot of websites out there so there are tons of recipes that you can cook.

The book is SCD DIET (special carbohydrate diet).  If you put scd diet in the search engine you will find it.  I hope that this helps you.  I know how frustrating it can be.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's in November 2007. I have gained weight and am swollen in all the wrong places! I tried to keep up with my workouts (6am daily workouts for an hour to an hour and a half) but I could not do it. I was so tired and the arthritis from the Crohns was no help. I still try to go to the gym but my last attempt was almost a total fiasco after 45 minutes at a decent pace on treadmill had me practically fainting and nauseous. I have lost a lot of my muscle mass and have trouble lifting a lot of things that were no problem before. I am still on steroids but getting weened off of them but my sympotms are coming back as they decrease the steroids. I am on Imuran which sort of seemed to help with the arthritis and stomach pain but the diarrhea is still there. I am also on Celebrex for help with the arthritis. I am just trying to get back to some activity a little bit at a time. I wish I had some great answer or some magic cure for the weight gain, bloating, swelling, pain and depression. But I just try to wake up each day and put one foot in front of the other and try to go a bit farther than I did the day before. Hopefully I will get to the point that I can workout and lose the weight and be where I was before this fiasco started.
