If it is only for your peace of mind, you might reconsider until after the baby is born. DNA tests done after the birth of the baby are about a tenth of the cost of the tests done before the baby is born, and (unless you use a drugstore test, which are inadmissible), they can be used in court to determine paternity.
Thank you it's just for my peace of mind.
Try Ravgen or the DDC. Be sure you do know this will not be admissible in court, the courts have not given their approval to any prenatal test as far as I know. And test with both guys.
I was wondering on reputable places to go through. I need to have one done ASAP to verify paternity. I found a site online that sounds good but I don't want to get scammed either
Hi, are you talking about for purposes of establishing paternity? Several women on this site have done so. What is the question that you have?
A few tips:
Use the most reputable lab if you do prenatal testing to establish paternity. Try Ravgen or the DDC.
Test with both possible fathers. The last thing you want is to begin to second-guess your results after spending all that money, you want to reach a "yes" on one guy and a "no" on the other.
Be certain that the lab collecting the samples handles everything in a professional manner, photographing the person and his ID, and the works.
Be aware that prenatal DNA tests have not yet been affirmed for use by the courts for purposes of child support (as far as I know). For that you would need to test again after the baby is born, with a lab certified by the courts.
