If the lesion is canker sore( aphthous ulcer or stomatitis), there are many management option available, depending on your medical condition, frequency of attacks, and severity of pain. Oral pathologists or oral medicine specialists are probably the best candidates to offer you optimal care. Salt is not a good regimen, either. If you can not visit a specialist for the time being, OTC topical cream containing anesthetics would relieve the pain temporarily. Topical agent containing corticosteroid is generally the first choice of treatment. However, topical steroid is a prescribed medication. Food intolerence may be implicated in the pathogenesis of aphthous ulcer, you may document a diet diary , which may reveal what food triggers the onset of ulcer. The common culprit of foods are milk, egg white, chocolate, wheat, citrus fruit.
thanks, i gess ill go see what the dentist says, (going there in a week or so), i read that it could be foaming agency in tooth paste, so i switched but still no change. would salt work? It would hurt super bad, but im willing to try anything to get rid of the pain.
Seeing an oral pathologist or oral medicine specilaist is advised. Topical application of hydrogen peroxide is probably not a good idea.
