Deep scaling and root planning

Hi, has anyone ever had this procedure, deep scaling and root planning.  My dentist made it sound pretty simple but I would like to know from someone who has had it done.  WHat is it like during and after the procedure.  Any pain?

Yeah, I had it done a few years ago and it was no big deal.  My dentist did it in two visits (half of my mouth each visit).  Just felt a little sore afterwards, but nothing major.  Good luck!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Scaling and root planing is nothing more than a deep cleaning usually done with local anesthesia to keep the patient comfortable.  There can be some post procedure soreness but usually no more than a couple days.  It is pretty simple and very routine.
